Hot, Hot, HOT!!

Does this look like a little girl who 7 hours ago was running a 103.5 degree temp? Not so much. She had a fever last night, woke up crying at 10:00. This morning, she woke up and was fine. Wanted to go to school... so I let her. At noon, I got a call from Butterfly School. I made her an appointment to see the doctor, and after over 2 hours of sitting in the office, we left with a prescription for antibiotics, and not much else. We know she doesn't have the flu, or strep... but the doctor wasn't able to figure out what was wrong... After sitting in the doctor's office FOREVER she couldn't wait to run outside and see daddy... Would never know she was sick...

Spring Break Part #2

Macie spent the second part of Spring Break '09 in Bonham with Nana & G-Daddy.

Steve and I joined them on Saturday. We spent some time at the farm (see pics of Pony & Milo), and fishing at the creek and pond.

We started out at the creek that runs behind Nana & G-Daddy's house.


But we left shortly after we encountered this guy...
So we headed to the pond to fish off the dock. Macie caught 3, she was so proud!

Steve, PaPaw and I caught some really nice catfish... This guy swallowed the hook so G-Daddy helped me hold his mouth open while I got the hook out.
It was a great weekend!!!We had so much fun!!!

Spring Break Part #1

We spent most of our Spring Break '09 outside, playing in the yard, playing with friends, just enjoying the awesome spring weather!!! Macie is going to Bonham Wednesday to spend the rest of Spring Break with Nana & G-Daddy.

Macie was promoted today!

She will now be in the 4/5 year old gymnastics class at Excite!

Daddy & I surprised her with a Barbie horse to honor all of her hard work and the big promotion! Way to go sweet girl!

American Idol

Ok, so we usually watch American Idol at our house. We will sometimes even call in and vote on our favorites. Macie is always quick to comment on the singers.... how they performed (she's a REALLY good singer) or what they are wearing (her shoes are wierd). So a couple of weeks ago (when the new season started) Macie made the comment every morning on the way to school - "look Mom, there's American Idol". I had NO idea what she was talking about. It was always in the same place, at an intersection surrounded by fast food, gas stations, and grocery stores. I would always look and never could figure out what she was talking about. She would point "it's right there". Finally I fiugred out what she was pointing at.

Culver's is a resturant near that intersection. Now I get it.

And yesterday in the car, she made another "Idol" discovery.

By the way, I am really glad that Danny got through last night (I voted for him) and not Tatiana (I mean, seriously...).

sticker obsession

So Macie loves stickers. She loves to use them all at one time... sharing them with whomever is around and occasionally "decorating" her room with them. A few days ago she decorated her face. Cute, right? I wish I wasn't so OCD and could share in her joy. As a child, I RARELY ever used my stickers. I liked to leave them stuck to the paper so I could go back and admire my collection whenever I wanted. I would order the stickers from the book club each month... I would save stickers I got for Valentines or Halloween or whatever. So it has been a little difficult for me to watch her "waste" her stickers like that. But maybe it isn't such a waste... She truly enjoys her stickers. And I guess, at the time, I did too, even though I never stuck them to anything. Maybe Macie is right. Maybe I need to "chill out".

Yes, she really did say that to me.

For the record... Do you know what I ended up doing with all of my stickers I saved throughout my childhood? I gave them away. As a reward. For the kids I worked with in the schools - after every speech therapy session. I even took the time to cut around the stickers that were all on one sheet of paper. You know, for those kids who don't want to "waste" their stickers. :)

Enough Said.

Thanks Beth and Jack for the cookie bouquet... they were delicious and I did my best not to eat them all at once to help drown my sorrows....

Swing Set Update

He is almost finished! I think it looks great. I still can't believe he just Googled "swing set blueprints" and did this all on his own... Macie is super excited!
And Macie insisted that I take a picture of the "butterfly" on her slide and put it on the computer. So here ya go. Enjoy :)

Weekend in Review

We went to Emory for the weekend. Lots of good food and fun as always... Rod, Heather and Jace came on Saturday and the kids had a great time playing....

Swing Set

Steve is building Macie a swing set! We already had one in the backyard, it came with the house... but it was several years old and in need of some repair. So what started as repair work turned into building a whole new swing set! He is doing such a great job, I am so proud... and very impressed with his work!

Cowboys Christmas Party Slide Show

Wow Wii

We have a Wii!!! (Thanks MC!) It is super fun and we have been playing it A LOT! I wish I had some pics of everybody playing rockband... so funny! The Day's came over last night (after spending over 2 hours at the new Texas Roadhouse in Flower Mound... not fun, but the kids did REALLY well considering....) and we played a game called Raving Rabbids TV Party. Very fun game! Macie, Taylor and Collin stayed up later than they should have watching Ryan, Tiff, Steve and I try to figure out the games (and make fools of ourselves of course!)

Happy New Year!

So we started the new year with the end of the Cowboys football season... which was definately a bummer. We had high hopes for this year :( But we are trying to move on... This year we will get to relax with no arena football (the AFL has suspended the 2009 season). So what do we do with no Desperados to prepare for? Watch the College Bowl games, of course! Macie had to show some Sooner love when we went to visit her Nana and G-Daddy today.
