Waiting for Baby...

Uncle Rod called this morning around 5:00 am to say that he was taking Aunt Heather to the hospital... she was having contractions! Steve, Macie and I went to the hospital this evening to wait for his arrival. Macie had fun playing with her Mimi & PawPaw in the waiting room!

One Year

Macie is one year old today! We can't believe how fast her first year has gone. We are so blessed to have such a sweet little girl. We love you Macie!

At her one year doctor appointment, Macie weighed 17.4 lbs (6th %tile) and was 27 1/4" long (5th %tile).

Macie's Birthday Party

Macie's first birthday party was on Saturday evening. We had so much fun spending time with family and friends! Macie loved her birthday cake and opening her gifts.

Baby Kaden

Macie & I visited the Miller's today in the hospital and met Baby Kaden. He was born Tuesday night, and weighs 7 lbs, 8 oz and is 20" long. He is very sweet. Macie is excited about her new friend! Congratulations Wes & Laura!

Bath Time

Macie loves bath time! She squeals and tries to climb into the tub as soon as I turn the water on.

Little Miss Adventurous

Macie is everywhere these days!! She is so busy crawling, pulling up, and getting into everything! She crawled under her Excersaucer on Sunday morning before church... and decided it was not a great place to be after she bumped her head a couple of times. Mom to the rescue! Macie still doesn't have any teeth... Her lack of teeth doesn't slow her down when it comes to eating... The girl loves to eat! She eats her baby food very well, and begs to try whatever Steve and I are eating. She is a big talker too... She will talk to anything that will listen (me, Lexie, her toes...). Macie has also learned to give high fives and will wave bye. She is finally wearing 6-9 month clothes, and size 1 shoes. Sad story: We were shopping at the Galleria today and Macie lost one of her cute white sandles. I don't have any idea how long it had been missing, but I know she started out with a complete pair on her feet. Poor girl, her mean mom won't buy her any more white sandles for this year... it's almost Labor Day. She can go barefoot, right?

Training Camp 2006

Steve left today for Oxnard, California... It's Cowboys Training Camp time! We are excited and hoping for a great season - GO COWBOYS!

Blueberry Farm

Macie made her first trip to the blueberry farm on Saturday. She had so much fun riding in her stroller through the rows of blueberry bushes. Steve and I picked blueberries for two hours! He can hardly wait for me to make him a blueberry pie!

Baby Makynli

We visited the Carrells last night in the hospital and met baby Makynli!! She is a cutie pie!! Staci and I couldn't wait to get the first "girlfriend" picture of Makynli and Macie. We are so excited she is here! Congratulations Matt & Staci!

Sleeping Beauty

Macie had a great time at her friend Taylor's 2nd birthday party today. She had her first little taste of cake... and she loved it! Looks like she may have a sweet tooth! And in just two months she will be having her very own birthday cake! She was so tired tonight when she went to bed, she didn't even notice me in the room taking pictures of her.

10 Months

Macie turned 10 months old today!! We can't believe how fast our little girl is growing up. At her 9 month well baby appointment, Macie weighed 15.8 lbs (7th %tile), and was 26 inches tall (5th %tile). She is so busy playing with all of her toys and chasing after Lexie!

Galveston

Steve, Macie & I left for Galveston on Friday June 16. We met up with Mimi & PawPaw (my parents) and Uncle Rod & Aunt Heather (my brother & sister in law). Mimi & PawPaw treated us to a wonderful week long vacation on the beach. We stayed in a beautiful house right on the beach. We all had a great time. We spent the days playing on the beach, and nights watching movies and playing games. We had so much fun playing on the boogie boards out in the ocean. We also played washers and bocce ball on the beach. PawPaw set up a tent for us so we could be under the shade. Macie ate dirt, and almost ate a hermit crab... She was so excited to wake up each morning and head to the beach. Unfortunately for her, Daddy and I were not willing to take her out at 4:00 am...

Beach Bum

Macie had so much fun playing on the beach! She loved splashing in the water, making mud pies and sand castles. She thought the seagulls were so funny and loved watching them play.

Moody Gardens

On Tuesday, Rod, Heather, Steve & I spent the day at Moody Gardens. We went on a paddle boat ride, saw the aquarium, the rainforest and an Imax film about sharks. We had such a great time. Macie, Mimi & PawPaw spent the day playing at the beach.

Deep Sea Fishing

On Wednesday, Steve & Rod went deep sea fishing. They had so much fun!! They caught lots of Angel Fish and Red Snapper.

9 Months

Macie is 9 months old!!

Las Vegas

Steve and I went to Vegas!! We left last Friday. Although the trip wasn't perfect (the Desperados were not playing in the Arena Bowl, which was held in Las Vegas) we had a wonderful time. We had been hoping to win both playoff games and head to Las Vegas earlier in the week, but our plans changed after a devastating loss to the Orlando Predators on Sunday. We decided to go out anyway since our buddies Wes and Laura were going to go. We had so much fun!! We stayed at New York, New York - it was really nice. Friday we went to go see David Copperfield. It was an amazing show!!! We had incredible seats - 3rd row, middle of the stage. Saturday we went to a skills competition to support our friends Carlos and Clint in their kicking and quarterback challenges. Sunday we went to the Arena Bowl. I learned how to play Roulette - very fun!! Steve and I left with their money!!! We came home on Monday and picked Macie up. She had a great time with Mimi and PawPaw!!

Water Babies

Babies & Basketball

Macie had so much fun playing with her friend Cade last night. We went over to the Carrell's last night to watch the basketball game. We can hardly wait for Cade's baby sister, Makynli, to arrive in July!!

Arbuckle Wilderness

Remember seeing the comercial for Arbuckle Wilderness when you were younger?? How cool you thought it would be for the animals to come right up to your car while you fed them out of your hand....??? Well, Steve and I remembered and decided we need to check it out... It wasn't quite as spectacular as we thought it would be when we were young - but we did have lots of laughs. Like when this long haired cow stuck his head in my window, drooled in my car and burped in my face. Good times.

Weekend Trip

Steve & I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary with a trip to Sulpher, Oklahoma. We stayed in a beautiful bed & breakfast - Echo Canyon Manor - near Chickasaw National Park. We arrived on Friday night after Steve got off work. After a delicious breakfast, we spent Saturday morning in Turner Falls Park. It was so pretty - we hiked, went into a cave, and even walked around in the very cold river. Saturday afternoon we decided to try out Arbuckle Wilderness... see the next post to hear about it. After spending some time with the wild animals, we headed back to Chickasaw for some hiking. Saturday night we enjoyed a wonderful 3 entree dinner at the Manor... it was delicious. They even gave us candles on our desert to help us celebrate our anniversary! Sunday morning we hiked in Chickasaw Park before having breakfast. We left a little later to meet my parents in Rockwall so we could get Macie. She had so much fun staying with her Mimi & PawPaw for the weekend!!
By the way, the reason Steve and I were able to get away for the weekend was not because the Dallas Desperados football season is over.... They had a BYE before going to the PLAYOFFS!! So Steve had 2 whole days off!! The first round is this Saturday, 2:30 at the American Airlines Center. We found out yesterday they will be playing the Georgia Force. The Desperados have had a great season - we are so excited to be in the playoffs!!

Little Birds

Macie is not the only baby bird at our house.... We have a family of doves with 2 new babies! Every year the doves return to their nest they built in the gutter. We love to sit on the back porch and watch them!!

8 Months

Macie turned 8 months old on May 6!

Getting So Big!!

Macie is such a big girl! She is sitting up in her stroller now, instead of laying in the infant carrier. She has also added carrots, sweet potatos and peas to her diet. Macie is sleeping great through the night, and wakes up in the morning around 7:30. She has also decided that she likes sleeping on her stomach.

A Walk in the Park

Macie and her buddy Jackson had a great time feeding the ducks yesterday at the park. Jackson's mom, Tiffany, and I take the babies to the park every week for a walk.

Macie's great grandparents celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on April 1st. Family and friends surprised them with a party in their honor last Saturday! We had so much fun!! Congratulations Mamaw & Papaw Wilson!!
