RHS 1997

My High School Class Reunion was this weekend!! We had such a great time. It was wonderful to see all of my buddies... and their babies!! We had a family picnic Saturday afternoon at the park. Saturday night we had a BBQ dinner. This is a picture from the park... I have lots more pictures to post from the dinner!

Cows, Donkeys & Fire Ants

This evening, Macie, Mimi & I took carrots to the donkeys in the pasture. It was all going well and I was getting some cute pictures, until... I look down at my left foot and it was completely covered with fire ants. Not cool. Macie loves the cows and will stand outside of Mimi & PawPaw's house and 'moo' at them. So I guess it was worth the pain and suffering I endured to see the joy on her face and get great photos. Or maybe not.

Strawberry Pancakes

So my very favorite breakfast in the world is my mom's strawberry pancakes. She has been making them for us for as long as I can remember. Everytime I go home to visit I always request them. I am so excited that Macie loves them as much as me! Now she asks MiMi for "cake" for breakfast too!

Las Vegas

We just got back from Las Vegas! We went with Matt & Staci - We had so much fun!!! We spent 3 nights at the Mirage hotel. On Thursday, we went to the Hoover Dam - that is where this picture was taken. Friday Steve and Matt played golf, while Staci and I shopped, ate at The Cheesecake Factory, and spent time out by the pool. Friday night we ate at the buffet at the Wynn hotel... we ate more Alaskan King Crab legs than we could count! But the best part was just being able to hang out with our buddies again! It was a super fun trip!

19 Months

The Dallas Desperados are 6-0!! The only undefeated team in the AFL!!

Lubbock

Macie and I went to Lubbock this weekend to visit Staci, Cade & Makynli. We had a great time!! The kids had so much fun... We took them to a fun gym with a ton of bounce houses and slides, a science museum, the park... It was great!! We even went to Spanky's near the Tech campus for the most wonderful mozzerella sticks we have ever eaten. It was a super fun weekend! And Macie did great on the plane ride there and back... only a slight meltdown when we ran out of juice. Matt flew to Dallas for the weekend to hang out with Steve. He helped Steve with the Depserados game on Saturday night, and after the game they attended a team party at the new Ghost Bar in Dallas. Definately a great weekend!

Macie loves playing with her baby dolls... She pushes them in the stroller all over the house, gives them their bottles, rocks them and sings to them...

Desperados Game 2

Tonight was the first Dallas Desperados home game of the season! The guys played great and won 59-40! The team is 2-0!! What a great way to start out the season!! Macie & her buddy Gabe (Coach McClay's son) had a great time watching the game!

18 Months

Macie is 18 months old! At her 18 month doctor appointment this morning, she weighed 19.4 lbs, and was 29 inches long.... 3rd percentile for both. When I got out my camera to take pictures of Macie, she smiled a huge smile... and said something that sounded a lot like 'cheese'. I thought, that can't be right, I have never asked her to say cheese before. She kept saying it and smiling over and over.... it was so funny!! I asked Ms. Jane if the kids played with a camera at her house, and sure enough, they do. She said the kids were always playing with her toy camera and requesting that they say 'cheese' before taking the picture.

Macie had so much fun playing with her baby cousin Jace this weekend! She showed him how to do lots of fun things - like clapping!

Macie went to her friend Halle's birthday today. It was at Gymboree Play & Music. She had a great time!! Halle gave all of her friends these neat red bouncy balls!

Chloe's Birthday Party

Saturday was Chloe's birthday party! Macie had so much fun playing with her friends! The kids even got to decorate their own cupcake! How fun!! Dedicating Our Children

Today was a very special day at Riverside Church of Christ. We had the opportunity to "dedicate our children". A dedication to the Lord is recognition by parents and the church that each child belongs to God, and that it is our responsibility to nurture every child so that he or she will grow up in the knowledge of the true God, an be prepared to follow Christ. Steve and I made a public statement that as parents, we are committed to seekeing God's guidance to raise Macie according to scriptural principals, teaching God's word in our home and setting an example of Christian life and service. We received a beautiful certificate and a book called 'Parents Guide to the Spiritual Growth of Children.' Since this is the first year Riverside has had a Dedication, there were many families that participated... over 60 children were dedicated! They are pictured above, singing 'Jesus Loves Me'. Thanks to all of our family who joined us for this special day!

Cirque du Soleil

Friday night my friend Laura and I went to see the Cirque du Soleil production of Corteo. It was an amazing show!! I couldn't believe the strength, balance and coordination of the incredible performers. We had such a great time!

17 Months

Macie is 17 months old today!

We met Jackson and Tiffany at the park this afternoon. The kids had a great time playing and feeding the ducks!

Reading

Macie loves to sit in her big, red chair and "read". She has a big bucket of books beside her chair, and she will look at all of them throughout the day. I love seeing her so interested in books...

Spoons

I have been trying to get Macie to eat with a spoon for a couple of months now... but she has never been interested. I finally broke down and got her some vanilla pudding, thinking that might motivate her. Sure enough, she thought it was great, and soon she was spooning up pudding like a pro!

Until she turned the spoon over....

and started dipping from the other end.

American Idol

Macie is a HUGE American Idol fan! She is so excited it is back on for another season!
