Steve won this in an auction at a golf tournament today! The tournament was held to benefit his buddy Terrence Newman's foundation - Rising Stars. His group even came in 5th place!

Beach Babe

we just got home from a week at the beach! we stayed in galveston at a home my parents rented... it was wonderful! thanks mimi and pawpaw! macie went fishing for the first time in the ocean... but all she caught were big mean crabs! she was not impressed... steve, uncle rod and pawpaw also spent time fishing... and one day uncle rod and steve went deep sea fishing. steve caught red snapper and a shark! steve, rod, heather and i went one night to play putt putt golf, and finished our game just in time to catch a 10:15 movie!! it was a very relaxing, care free, no schedules week... loved it!!!

ok... with the exeception of drawing on the wall one time with a pink highlighter... this has been the only time sweet girl has ever written on something she wasn't supposed to. her adorable little wodden table in her playroom. it has a few marks here and there, where her crayon slipped, but she has never intentionally written or drawn on the table. i found this and thought it was sorta cute but now i want it off!!! any ideas? i mean it is cute that she likes to practice writing her name, i know one day soon enough she will be writing mrs. macie ____ with who ever her current boyfriend is, trying to see how it sounds. (or was i the only one who did that?)

macie was the flower girl in aunt monica and uncle monte's wedding!! she looked beautiful and did a fabulous job!! she had a blast dancing at the reception later... she is a party animal!!!

PawPaw and Steve cleaning catfish they caught today... Macie informed us that those were NOT the fish she liked to eat. She was totally grossed out by all the guts. We had fish for dinner, but not THOSE fish... just the ones that MiMi and PawPaw caught the day before :) Thanks to Steve and PawPaw for ensuring that we will have enough food to eat this winter...

school's out... for the SUMMER!

Last day of school... Macie has had a wonderful year! She had the best teachers... Ms. Rosa and Ms. Amy - we LOVED them!! They sent her home with lots of goodies, including a sand bucket with her name on it, shovel, beach towl, and pool toys. Plus a super cute framed class picture.

Macie brought home a couple of projects she has been working on this school year. One of them was an ABC book.... so stinkin cute!!! I wish I could post a picture of each page/letter...

They also created their own "Brown Bear" book... again, just so adorable. At the end of the book, when it gets to the part about the children, there is a picture of Macie's class, and the teachers are of course, Ms. Rosa and Ms. Amy!

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! We had a great day here at home with Monica, Monte and the boys. They came over this afternoon for burgers, swimming and games. The weather was perfect and we had a great time watching the cousins slide into the pool!

Mother's Day Weekend

Our Mother's Day weekend started in Bonham on Friday. We had a wonderful dinner with Nana, Aunt Gay, Aunt Karetha, Mamaw, Papaw, Uncle Derrell, Aunt GiGi, Marcus & Calvin Friday evening. Macie, Marcus & Calvin had a great time playing... and after they went to bed we stayed up late playing board games. Such a fun weekend!

Stucture Collapse During Practice...

Thanks to everyone who has checked on Steve... he is OK. He took a hard hit to the head, trainers sent him to the hospital for a CT scan just to be sure. A few of Steve's co-workers sustained serious injuries... please keep Greg, Rich and Joe, and their families in your prayers. I am posting a link to Dallas News... Steve is in several of the pictures.
